Des Moines Meeting Cancelled
August 12, 2010

Due to flooding and the multiple road closures, our Des Moines Meeting scheduled for tonight is cancelled. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause however coming from the Waterloo area with I35, Hwy 65, Hwy 14, among others closed, it would require an additional hour drive for me to make the trip and unfortunately, my schedule today does not allow for this additional hour.

On September 18, 2010, we are holding our first ever Family Fun Day at the Park at Gateway Park in Cedar Falls, which will include a hog roast and live music from MoJo and the Mudcats. The event is free and will be held from 1:00 p.m. until around 6:00 p.m

We have arranged for a professional photographer to be present, who with your written permission, will take pictures of you and your family if you so desire.  These pictures will be provided to all members who agree to participate on a cd within a couple weeks.

Lastly, if you are interested in bringing a food dish or assisting with the event, please contact Nichole Pattison at (319) 939-6655.

"Political reasons have not the requisite certainty to afford juridical interpretation. They are different in different men. They are different in the same men at different times. And when a strict interpretation of the Constitution, according to the fixed rules which govern the interpretation of laws, is abandoned, and the theoretical opinions of individuals are allowed to control its meaning, we have no longer a Constitution; we are under a government of individual men, who for the time being have the power to declare what the Constitution is, according to their own views of that it ought to mean." Dred Scott v.Sanford, 19 How. 393, 620 (1857) (Curtis, J., dissenting).
