It is amendment # 8164 that has been offered as an Amendment to HF 2645
Literally in the middle of the night, State DemocRATS introduced some
scary legislation. Around MIDNIGHT a DemoCRAT introduced an amendment
to a bill in the Iowa House that will seriously GUT the local control of
the local school board and the local governments (county and city)
regarding collective bargaining.
This legislation will also have a MAJOR  impact on everyone's property taxes.
This is the DemocRAT payback to AFSCME (government union) and ISEA (teachers union)
for getting the DemocRATS elected in 2006.
The Iowa House debated until 3:00 AM or so and are going to shut off
debate at noon so it IS VITAL that everyone call their Representative
first and then their Senator. There is no time to research or think
about it. We must all call now and keep calling until we get
House switchboard #: 515-281-3221
Senate switchboard #: 515-281-3371
Then ask for your representative or senator.
Senator Gronstal says that if the house gets it passed and to the Senate
he will keep the Senate in session until it passes - a slam dunk.
DemocRAT leadership wants this on the Big Lug's (Governor Culver) desk
before Easter.
In typical DemocRAT political high jinks, think about these facts:
Legislation literally introduced in the middle of the night
Done near the end of the week before the legislators break for Easter
No media in there @ midnight - no coverage
NCAA tournament MARCH MADNESS starts as the vote is being called @ NOON
Spring break, so many citizens are gone
Spring break, so many school board members are not around
Spring break, so many city council members are not around
Spring break, so many county supervisors  are not around
CALL NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Political reasons have not the requisite certainty to afford juridical interpretation. They are different in different men. They are different in the same men at different times. And when a strict interpretation of the Constitution, according to the fixed rules which govern the interpretation of laws, is abandoned, and the theoretical opinions of individuals are allowed to control its meaning, we have no longer a Constitution; we are under a government of individual men, who for the time being have the power to declare what the Constitution is, according to their own views of that it ought to mean." Dred Scott v.Sanford, 19 How. 393, 620 (1857) (Curtis, J., dissenting).
