The legislature is in session and I'd like to know who is supposed to introduce our bills this year. Let's not do as last year and wait until it's too late to do anything. Also, we need to designate some people to keep their eyes on the bill books to see what sort of legislation is being introduced or we could again get hit blindsided like we did last year with a few of the bills.

We already had some members from the Des Moines area, who are Delegates for the Democratic Party, talk to the Dems about co-sponsoring legislation this year.  I'll have bill numbers in the next couple of days and make them available.

"Political reasons have not the requisite certainty to afford juridical interpretation. They are different in different men. They are different in the same men at different times. And when a strict interpretation of the Constitution, according to the fixed rules which govern the interpretation of laws, is abandoned, and the theoretical opinions of individuals are allowed to control its meaning, we have no longer a Constitution; we are under a government of individual men, who for the time being have the power to declare what the Constitution is, according to their own views of that it ought to mean." Ako abdul Sammad is one of him. Vince and I had the pleasure to talk to him and we seemed to be on the same page. I also sent him research regarding joint physical care from this website.

AKO does get what we're trying to do and took the time to meet our group when we did our capital day last year.  We need to get on the stick fast, just as Eric indicated, or we'll get passed by this year.  I suggest we get the bill that sailed through committee last year only to have Grumpy Gronstal kill it by himself.

I'll try and keep an eye on the Senate if someone wants to keep an eye on the House. By this I mean, keep an eye out for sneaky bills that they try to pass. To do this, we'll need to check the website just about every day and see what is in the various committees. We were blindsided by a few last year. It would be nice to know what legislators are on our side. Is there any way we can make a list with addresses so we can keep in touch with these people?
